As the co-owners of the Baskin-Robbins franchise location in Deer Park plan a move to La Porte, they are also working to bring the ice cream shop to Spring. Co-owner Roshon Patel told What Now Houston that he and his business partner, Sam Patel, are relocating their Baskin-Robbins location from 3811 Center St., Ste. B in Deer Park to 8920 Spencer Hwy. in La Porte.

The Deer Park location opened nearly a decade ago, and the two purchased it in 2018. “We’ve noticed a slight decline in sales. The foot traffic has died down on that side, which is causing us to move,” Patel said.

Patel hopes to have a seamless transition to the new La Porte space. They plan to move out of Deer Park at the end of September and hope to reopen in La Porte within a week if not instantaneously. “We are trying to basically stay closed as least amount of time as possible if we can,” Patel said.

The La Porte location is new construction and will feature the latest prototype of Baskin-Robbins. It will feature a more modern, refreshed, clean look. The menu will remain the same with a variety of ice cream flavors available in a cone or a cup, ice cream cakes and pies, sundaes, milkshakes, smoothies, and more.

They will also bring Baskin-Robbins to Spring at 3784 Rayford Rd., Ste. 100, hopefully to be open to the public by the end of 2022. They own several other locations including one on Wallisville Rd., W. Lake Houston St., and in Kingwood.

“We’re very excited. We love the brand,” Patel said. “We get great support from the community and that’s why we’re going out into Spring because we’re going in the heart of a community that has a bunch of neighborhoods around us and same with La Porte. We just know that it’s a little bit busier on that side of town.”
