Rev McEwin, general manager of Bean & Bottle, told What Now Houston they currently have a smaller kitchen and serve mostly café-style food options. “So, good breakfast items, salads, a good protein or power box. There’s some keto options and then baked goods,” McEwin explained. Bean & Bottle offers sandwich options plus different charcuterie boards in the evening.

“We wanted to be able to offer some more of those actual, proper dinner-like options where people would want to sit down with a bottle of wine and enjoy their evening. So, we’re expanding our kitchen in order to do that.” The expansion will help facilitate the growth of the business.

The small batch Houston roaster, Brotherly Coffee, has been roasting the coffee for Bean & Bottle off-site. Plans are to add a new on-site roaster to allow them to roast beans at the location. “It’s going to be one of the places where you can have the freshest coffee served to you,” McEwin said.

Bean & Bottle currently has a 1,350 hundred bottle wine cellar. McEwin said plans are to add another cellar for about 1,500 bottles. The dining area will also be expanded to include a small room for about 10-20 people to enjoy seated dinners or wine tastings. Bean & Bottle’s current capacity is about 60-70 guests. They also have another private room called Bloom for private events.

The expansion shouldn’t affect service. McEwin expects the changes to be finalized in the new year.
