Each cup is brewed individually and handcrafted, so it’s fresh. Classics include the House Milk Tea, as well as Thai Tea, and Liquid Gold, which is a double-roasted honey oolong tea with fresh cream.

“Boba is something that not everyone knows and something that is growing,” said Aizhan Abzalov, Teaspoon franchisee. “I hope that we will have a lot of customers who will love this product.”

Teaspoon’s Signature drink menu includes the Strawberry Sangria, which includes black assam tea sweetened with natural cane sugar and infused with strawberry marmalade. Specialty coffee drinks are also an option, and macarons will be a sweet treat for guests.

This will be the first Teaspoon in the Houston area. “We’re happy to bring something new,” she told What Now Houston. They are working with a broker to find a space, but Abzalov hopes to open in spring of 2023.

“My first goal was not to just sell the product,” Abzalov said, “but the main focus is to have some community impact.” Abzalov hopes Teaspoon will be a place for people to gather, to rest, and to work.

The local Houston boba tea shop’s motto could soon become a quote from an Abzalov family member: “Please open soon. I’m coming to Teaspoon.”

Amy Lai co-founded Teaspoon in 2015, and the brand can now be found in about 60 locations across the U.S.
