Coming this fall, Craft Pita will be ready to serve West University folks at 5172 Buffalo Speedway in the former Kenny & Ziggy’s space next to Kroger. Taking cues from Nasr’s Lebanese background, Craft Pita’s menu is popular for its Rotisserie Chicken served with Pita Bread, plus Mezze plates such as Hummus, Babaganoush, and flatbreads called Manaeesh. Their chicken, beef kafta, and falafel can be ordered as pita sandwiches or bowls.

Outside of olive oil that comes from a family orchard in Lebanon, Nasr sources his ingredients from local vendors. Chicken comes from Naked Truth, akaushi beef comes for HeartBrand Beef, and the pita bread is from Phoenicia, a Lebanese grocery store in Westchase.

“The time for Mediterranean is as good as it’s ever been. People are looking for healthy food [and] more locally sourced food. We just want to strike while the iron is hot,” Nasr told CultureMap last week. Renovations are soon to begin on the second restaurant, which is expected to open in October
