The chain first opened in 2020 in the Nashville area and then quickly expanded to other markets across the Southeast. They currently have 67 stores open in seven states with more to come. Dollar General has plans to open approximately 1000 Popshelf stores by the end of 2025. They began opening locations across Texas earlier this spring.

The chain continues to make inroads into the Greater Houston Area as well. They have locations opening soon in Houston, Webster, Cypress, and Pasadena. Considering the company has plans to open 1,110 new stores in the coming fiscal year, including Popshelf, Dollar General and international locations in Mexico, customers can reasonably expect more Popshelf locations to pop up in Texas soon.
