It looks like Houston is the next planned location for Via 313, an authentic Detroit-style pizzeria that first opened in Austin back in 2011. According to a recent project filing, construction for Via 313 at 10201 Katy Fwy., Ste. 350 in Houston could begin sometime in the spring.

The nearly 3,600-square-foot space must undergo a finish out before opening to the public, possibly sometime in the summer of 2023. The Houston location would be the first for the brand in the area and would include indoor dining and a front patio.

Brothers Brandon and Zane Hunt were inspired to develop the pizza brand based on their memories enjoying traditional Detroit-style pizzas during their youth. Zane Hunt earlier told What Now Media Group they wanted to provide a gathering place for sports teams and other groups to enjoy pizza and a pitcher of beer.

The menu features a variety of appetizers, Detroit-style pizzas, bar-style pizzas with a thin crust, salads, and desserts. You might want to savor the 313 Vodka Pizza with Tito’s Handmade Vodka sauce, fresh parmesan, and basil. The Original Pepperoni has smoked pepperoni under the cheese, and The Rocket is topped with calabrese, arugula, and shaved parmesan.

There are multiple Via 313 locations in operation in the Austin area and others in Utah, and the brand is expanding. In late 2020, Savory Management invested in Via 313 to grow the brand in new locations.
