Street Churros is a concept born in Seoul, South Korea that will soon make its debut in Texas. “They don’t have big spaces like we have in the U.S. Everything is pretty much like street food,” Street Churros owner Nancy Nguyen told What Now Houston, “and that’s how Street Churros started.”

There are Street Churros locations throughout Asia, and Nguyen said a couple of California locations were open at one point but closed during the Pandemic.

“I stumbled onto the business when we went to Korea in 2018, I believe. I wasn’t much of a churro person, but when I tried it, I was like, “Wow, this is awesome!’” Nguyen contacted the brand about franchising, and they declined at that time.

Nguyen later saw a Street Churros while visiting Los Angeles and reached out again. “We have the rights to Texas, and we’re hoping to open our first two locations in Houston and then expand throughout Texas.”

Street Churros will be located at 9938 Bellaire Blvd, Ste. H, Houston, TX 77036. Nguyen is still searching for a space for the second storefront.

Street Churros specializes in churros, of course, and serves Korean corndogs and soft-serve ice cream. “I think it’s a neat concept, and we’re really going to showcase that,” Nguyen said.
