With its deep ties to Texas A&M University, Layne’s first opened its doors in College Station in 1994, predating its competitor Raising Cane’s by two years. Since then, Layne’s has gained a devoted following among students and locals, known for its signature Soon to be Famous™ Chicken Fingers, which are marinated and breaded on-site. In addition to the new Houston location, Layne’s Chicken Fingers operates a restaurant in the Heights, Katy, and several other locations across Texas, including its original outpost in College Station, as well as restaurants in Lewisville, Frisco, Allen, and Roanoke in the Dallas-Fort Worth region.
Franchise Owner Masroor Fatany commented on the significance of this expansion, stating, “This location will mark a major step for the Layne’s legacy. The demand, which was already high, has only grown ever since we opened our Heights location, so bringing Layne’s to Montrose is going to allow us to bring our delicious chicken to customers throughout Houston.” Fatany also owns and operates seven locations of The Halal Guys in Houston.
With the opening of their new Montrose location in late 2023, Layne’s Chicken Fingers is poised to further solidify its presence in the Houston area while satisfying the appetites of chicken lovers throughout the city.
