Montrose, the heart of Houston’s vibrant cultural scene, is set to welcome a fresh and sophisticated addition to its ever-evolving landscape. Later this year, Melrose will open its doors at 2517 Ralph Street, bringing with it an infusion of international flair and elevated service to the beloved Lower Westheimer district. The brainchild of hospitality veterans Army Sadeghi, Brandon Duliakas, and Dan Wierck, Melrose promises to be more than just another cocktail bar—it aims to redefine the neighborhood’s nightlife with a seamless blend of elegance, history, and innovation.

Housed in the former La Grange space, Melrose is poised to breathe new life into the historic 1930s-era building that has long been a Montrose staple. The partners, each with a rich background in creating unique social experiences, were irresistibly drawn to the authenticity and charm of the venue. “This is a special building in a special place,” says Sadeghi, known for the success of Montrose’s Clarkwood. “Our goal is to create an environment and experience with longevity—something that will not only cater to the cultured diversity of Montrose, but also add to the unique tapestry of the neighborhood.”
The concept for Melrose is rooted in the partners’ shared vision of a high-style cocktail bar that transcends trends. The spirits program, designed by an Amsterdam-based consultancy renowned for working with luxury brands, will offer nearly two dozen seasonal signature cocktails, complemented by an innovative bites menu crafted by James Beard-nominated chef Emmanuel Chavez of Tatemó fame. The result? A full sensory experience where guests can savor the finest drinks while indulging in thoughtfully curated bar snacks, all within a space designed for mingling, dates, and business gatherings.
Interior and exterior transformations are already underway, with the acclaimed design firm Davis Ink injecting luxurious finesse into the venue. The remodel will see the introduction of a large three-sided bar, intimate seating vignettes, and a reimagined two-level patio that retains its bohemian charm while offering new features like a central tree and cozy fire pits. Melrose is set to be more than just a night out; it’s designed to be an enduring fixture in Montrose, reflective of the neighborhood’s eclectic and walkable nature.
As Montrose continues to surge with new developments and upscale amenities, Melrose arrives at the perfect moment to capture the neighborhood’s spirit. From its stylish interiors to its curated cocktail menu, Melrose is on track to become a must-visit destination, not just for locals but for anyone seeking a taste of Houston’s most dynamic district.
