Take a Wok owner Alaa Darali told What Now Houston the menu will feature to-go Chinese dishes. “We’re going to sell egg rolls, egg fried rice, chicken fried rice, sweet and sour chicken,” Darali said. Spicy dishes will also be available. There will only be to-go, no dine-in or drive-thru options.

The Houston storefront will be the first Take a Wok, and Darali would like to open additional locations in the future. Darali wants the second Take a Wok location to have dine-in seating and a drive-thru service. “Hopefully, we can make it a franchise.”

For now, Darali is excited to start the new concept and hopes the process will move quickly. “Hopefully, I get the permits quicker. Because of the Pandemic, everything is behind.”
