Fulshear is the next spot for a Kansas-based chicken restaurant that’s working to bring just over two dozen locations to the Houston area. The first Texas spot for Chick N Max is tentatively set to open in Willis this March. Franchisee Aaron Johnson has decided his second location will open at the Market at Cross Creek Ranch at FM 1463 and Fulshear Bend Dr. in Fulshear, according to a press statement. He’s working on a third site in The Woodlands.

Chick N Max offers wings, tenders, and Legendary Sandwiches such as the Original Fried Chicken with hand breaded tenders and dill pickles, or the Nashville Hot with house blended spices, white Bama BBQ sauce, coleslaw, and pickles. Several other sandwiches feature smoked chicken on a toasted potato bun, and you can also get chicken and waffles. Homestyle sides of Mashed Potatoes & Gravy, White Cheddar Mac & Cheese, and Deviled Egg Potato Salad are nice additions to any meal.

Johnson began working in the restaurant industry as a young teen and has worked in the corporate side of restaurants, including MOD Pizza and Smashburger, for most of his life. Johnson’s friend and former Senior Vice President of Real Estate at Smashburger, Max Sheets, founded Chick N Max in 2017 and later began franchising. Johnson decided to jump on board.

Chick N Max announced last fall that Johnson had signed a 25-unit area development agreement to expand the brand. The Fulshear location could open to the public sometime in the summer of 2023.
