A specialty waffle and ice cream shop is coming soon to the Houston area. The Dolly Llama Waffle Master is expected to open at 8920 Metropark, Ste. 800 in Shenandoah sometime at the end of winter or in the spring of 2023.
Owners Adriana Navarro-Tanner and her husband Jason Tanner have the franchise territory north of Interstate-10 to The Woodlands. The Shenandoah location will be their first, and they hope to open at least four other stores in the next five years including in The Heights.
“We found it in one of our trips in L.A., and we already had in mind to start a business of this nature. So, we just love the concept and the history behind it,” Navarro-Tanner told What Now Houston.
According to the brand’s website, Dolly is an actual llama at a farm in the South of France. Dolly had an impact on one of the brand’s founders, Samuel Baroux, and he and childhood friend and fellow businessman, Eric Shomof, founded The Dolly Llama Waffle Master in California in 2017. Dolly is “the perfect representation for their ice cream and waffle brand, bringing all that fun llama spirit into creative dessert concoctions, happy customers and great, fun vibes!”
“It’s a trendy new product,” Navarro-Tanner said. The Dolly Llama doesn’t offer a traditional waffle ice cream cone, but instead, it’s an actual waffle with two options available—a Bubble Waffle or the Signature OG Liege Waffle. You can add ice cream and toppings to the waffle or in a cup.
Ice cream flavors include vanilla, chocolate, horchata, ultimate cookie monster, salted caramel, and more, plus vegan options. Sauces such as Nutella, caramel, and peanut butter, as well as a variety of toppings can then be added. You can also order a shake or a mini OG Ice Cream Sandwich.
