“It will be built per Walk-On’s standards, so you’ll have the exposed brick, the arches, aspects to give it a game day experience, but yet it’s still very sleek and inviting to all of our guests,” said Jenny Davis, franchisee. Depending on potential delays, Walk-On’s in Conroe could open to the public in the summer of 2023.

Jenny and her husband, Cory Davis, are also the franchisees for the Walk-On’s in College Station, which opened about two and half years ago. “Walk-On’s has expanded rapidly, especially in the SEC states, so as of now, there are 70 locations across the U.S,” Jenny said. “Walk-On’s is growing at a very rapid pace.”

Walk-On’s was founded by Brandon Landry and Jack Warner, who became friends when they joined the Louisiana State University basketball team as walk-ons. The first Walk-On’s opened in Louisiana in 2003. NFL All-Pro Quarterback Drew Brees joined Walk-On’s as a co-owner in 2015, according to the brand’s website.

“It’s named Walk-On’s because you are playing for the heart of the team, but you are a walk-on for the team and that plays into those that want to be there. They’re all heart,” Jenny told What Now Houston. “That really embodies a lot of who we are. We try to make every visit a memorable one and go above and beyond for our guests. We thrive on teamwork, and we, much like a sports team you have to have a great product, and we do.”

The menu features Cajun cuisine including Voodoo Shrimp & Grits, Crawfish Étouffée, and the Cajun Ribeye. Diners can also enjoy a variety of flavorful sandwiches and poboys, hamburgers, salads, and tacos. Signature cocktails such as Eddy’s Sangria and Mad Mary, plus beer and wine are also on the menu.

“You have great food that’s from a scratch kitchen. You have a fun environment that’s not stuffy, and you get excellent customer service in a family-friendly sports restaurant,” Jenny said.

The new Conroe location will have an indoor patio with large doors that can be opened in nice weather to the outdoor patio, which will offer games and other family fun. A banquet room for meetings or private parties will also be available for guests.

“We’re bringing a lot of fun to the area, and on the other hand, we do so much in community involvement and giving back.” Cory is from Conroe and still has family in the area. “It’s a community that we know and love, and we look forward to serving,” Jenny said.
