Charleys Philly Steaks and Wings will bring its cheesesteaks to Spring in late summer 2022. Bryan Lennox, owner of Charleys Philly Steaks and Wings, plans to start construction on his first franchise location at 5921 FM 2920, Ste. G, Spring, TX 77388 in a couple of weeks and hopes to open to the public by the end of August or the first week of September.
“The biggest problem to anything right now in the whole industry, not just restaurants, is the equipment. We planned for that. We’ve been very proactive nailing down equipment,” Lennox said.
Lennox has secured a lease for his second location at 2015 Spring Stuebner Rd. in Spring.
“Houston is at a rapid pace of growing, and I wanted to bring something different to Houston that is not your everyday type of restaurant,” Lennox told What Now Houston. Besides cheesesteaks and wings, Charleys offers French fries with various toppings, as well as frozen treats including soft serve, sundaes, and shakes.
Lennox has been in the food industry for over three decades and after retiring from Boar’s Head, he decided to take on five Charleys franchise locations. “It’s an opportunity for me to start something new in Spring, Texas, and give the consumers something different.”
Lennox also plans to connect with the community. “I’ll reach out to these different groups and make sure that we’re supporting the elementary kids, the high school kids, first responders. I’m looking forward to networking with those groups.” Lennox plans to hire 20-30 employees per location.
Lennox plans to open three more Charleys in the Spring area starting in 2023. Lennox’s sister, Carlotta Lennox of Catching up with Carlotta, lives in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Lennox wants to possibly work with his sister to eventually open a Charleys in the DFW area, specifically in Frisco.
Other Charleys are currently located across the Greater Houston area including standalone and drive-thru restaurants, as well as spots in some area Walmart locations and strip centers. Charleys started in Ohio in 1986 and now has about 700 stores nationwide and others abroad.
