Houston’s East Downtown (EaDo) district is witnessing a transformation in its hospitality sector, led by the dynamic trio behind Agricole Hospitality – Vincent Huynh, Ryan Pera, and Morgan Weber. Miss Carousel, their concept that recently closed its doors, is doing so temporarily, and will remain at the prime location of 1201 St Emanuel St.

Miss Carousel is set for a metamorphosis into a more relaxed bar, which will fully utilize its spacious interiors to host a myriad of activities ranging from sports screenings to live music and DJ nights. Meanwhile, its sibling, Indianola, which was also shuttered by Agricole at the same location, will soon house a Tex-Mex restaurant and cantina, reflecting a laid-back atmosphere perfectly suited for EaDo’s eclectic mix of residents and visitors.

Agricole’s owners recently shed light on the group’s strategic decisions, emphasizing their lessons from nearly half a decade in the EaDo region. “In the nearly five years since we opened Indianola and Miss Carousel, we’ve learned a lot about running businesses in East Downtown. With so much action – from sports games to entertainment and nightlife – happening in this vibrant neighborhood, we had to take a close look at these concepts and determine what wasn’t working,” remarked Weber, Pera, and Huynh.

The Agricole Hospitality brand isn’t just another name in the Houston hospitality scene. It is a legacy with a series of acclaimed establishments under its belt, including Coltivare, Eight Row Flint (with branches in the Heights and East End), EZ’s Liquor Lounge, and Vinny’s. Each venture has been a testament to the group’s passion for creating unique spaces that resonate with the community.

Miss Carousel and the new Tex-Mex concept’s precise grand opening dates along with more details will be announced later in 2023.
