Bad Ass Coffee in Cypress is proudly owned by business partners, Heath Rushing and Kyle Price. The two signed a 10-unit development agreement, and the Cypress location marks their first opening. After 15 years of working together, Rushing and Price decided to seek a new business venture outside of being healthcare executives. Drawn by their passion for coffee, they were led to Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii, where they immediately recognized the brand’s distinctive edge – a consistent commitment to showcasing the beauty of Hawaiian culture.

“The brand’s authenticity, particularly its Hawaiian heritage, is what drew us in. It’s not just about the product, but the unique service experience rooted in the aloha spirit. The essence of the brand mirrors our approach of balancing hard work while also having fun,” said Rushing in a statement. “We strive to not only create a space where fun intertwines with work, but bring the notion of embracing your inner bad ass to our community,” added Price.

In addition to premium Hawaiian coffees, Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii serves up a full menu of blended drinks, signature lattes, cold brews, teas, Hawaiian inspired food served on Kings Hawaiian sweet bread, and branded merchandise. Guests can enjoy a relaxing experience with nods to Hawaiian culture and décor. Those looking to take the taste of Hawaii home or to the office can purchase packages of Hawaiian blends and single-origin coffee beans including 100% Kona, single serve pods, and flavored coffee, along with other products.

“The opening of the Cypress, Texas Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii store is a significant milestone for our brand as it marks the first store of 24 stores scheduled to open in the Lone Star state”, said Scott Snyder, Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii CEO. “We knew from the beginning that Franchisees, Heath Rushing and Kyle Price, were going to be a great fit for our Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii ‘ohana and they have validated that confidence throughout the build-out process of their first of 10 stores. Heath and Kyle truly embody the very best of the Aloha spirit and the community of Cypress will be the beneficiaries of that passion and commitment to sharing Aloha,” Snyder said.

Guests are invited to try their first drink for free when downloading the Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii app and joining ‘Ohana Rewards. A two-day grand opening celebration will be held in the weeks after opening, where guests can enjoy giveaways, games, and donations from sales will go to Cy-Hope, a charitable organization providing resources that help underserved students thrive and graduate prepared for success in college or a career.

Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii was born on the Big Island of Hawaiʻi in 1989 with the dream of sharing American-grown, premium Hawaiian coffee with customers everywhere. In addition to premium coffee from the famous Kona region of the Big Island, Bad Ass Coffee also sources from Kauai and Maui. Its name pays tribute to a very important animal in Hawaiian coffee history: The Donkey. Legend has it that for generations, donkeys could be heard bellowing as they carried precious loads of coffee beans down the steep mountains of the Big Island. The people of Kona named these hard-working donkeys the “Bad Ass Ones” because of their reliably strong, but stubborn nature in carrying their precious cargo.

Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii – Cypress is open Monday – Sunday 5:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.

With rapid expansion underway, the brand has set aggressive expansion plans to open 150 new locations over the next five years, with territories available nationwide.
