The brand offers premium Hawaiian coffees along with a full menu of blended drinks, signature lattes, cold brews, and teas. Sandwiches, bagels, and muffins are also on the menu.

Bad Ass Coffee was born on the Big Island of Hawaii in 1989. The brand has been in expansion mode in recent months with nearly three dozen in operation across the U.S. and more on the way.

The Cypress spot is one of 10 planned units for the west Houston area and Galveston. Franchisees Heath Rushing and Kyle Price of RPC Ventures, LLC, are bringing the brand to Greater Houston. Both are executives in a large hospital system in Houston, and their shared interest in entrepreneurship and love of coffee led them to Bad Ass Coffee.

Legend says the native people of Kona called the donkeys that carried loads of coffee beans from the mountains of the Big Island “Bad Ass Ones,” according to the brand’s website. It states the legend of these donkeys lives on at Bad Ass Coffee because they are stubborn about “sourcing, roasting and serving quality Hawaiian coffee and doing so with the Aloha Spirit.”
