Sugar Land will soon see a new Dickey’s Barbecue Pit open in First Colony Commons. Franchise owner, Adrian Ledesma, confirmed to What Now Houston that the restaurant is coming soon, though an exact date has not been set just yet. According to Ledesma, his restaurant is just waiting on Sugar Land to issue one final permit. “Once we get the last permit, the contract says they should be ready to open in 60 days,” he said.

According to official documents, the restaurant will be located at 15823-B Suite 22, Southwest Freeway. The fast casual franchise currently has over 140 locations in Texas, alone. The brand began in Dallas in 1941 and now has locations in 44 states. “Well, I think it’s the best BBQ around,” Ledesma said of the chain. “Dickey’s has always done it the buffet style way for the last 80 years. That’s pretty much the difference I think.”

Dickey’s Barbecue Pit offers brisket, pulled pork, marinated chicken, turkey breast, polish kielbasa, ribs, and wings, among other BBQ favorites. They also have 7 different sauces, 2 rubs, and an assortment of toppers to create your own barbecue go-to.

“We’re going to try to make it to where it’s kind of a quick serve thing,” Ledesma said. “A lot of the other places you generally have to go up to the cashier, you order your food and then you sit down. But Dickey’s does it a different way. They want you to go up to that person that’s cutting the beef or the pork, and then you just go down and you get the sides and then you pay for it. So, it’s kind of like a buffet. So, it should be a whole lot faster to get through to get your food.”
