Hailing originally from New Orleans, Tran shared that he had met the founder of PJ’s Coffee some years ago. That serendipitous meeting planted a seed and grew into his newest career. As a first-time business owner, Tran is taking the big step to become his own boss. With a background in corporate finance, most recently building material manufacturing and previously oil and gas, Tran will bring those learned skills and years of experience with him into this new venture.

PJ’s Coffee of New Orleans, with its roots going back to 1978, is known for its commitment to sourcing the top 1% of Arabica beans and for using a traditional method of roasting that brings out the flavor without a bitter aftertaste.

As for the future, Tran is already looking ahead. While the Tomball location will be his pilot endeavor, he isn’t ruling out the possibility of expanding “After I see how it runs and operates, I’ll look into doing more,” Tran told What Now Houston in response to franchising the brand further.

The expected opening date is set for early 2024.
