Vergus Davis, Jr. recounts their path to franchising Wayback Burgers, beginning with a previous venture. “After starting our Amazon Delivery Service Business, I wanted to do more to help others,” said Vergus. His quest led him to research the best franchises, where Wayback Burgers repeatedly caught his eye. A family road trip provided the perfect opportunity to experience Wayback Burgers firsthand. “We all enjoyed our food,” he shared. This experience, combined with further positive reviews and a pivotal conversation with Bill Chemero from Wayback Burgers, solidified their decision to pursue this venture.

The Davises bring a unique perspective to their new franchise, influenced by their diverse professional backgrounds and personal experiences. Vergus, a 100% Disabled Veteran and Navy Reserves Lieutenant with extensive experience in Human Resources and Equal Employment Opportunity, brings a strong sense of dedication and service to the business. Binta, his supportive partner, shares his enthusiasm and commitment to their new endeavor.

Houston is just the beginning for the Davises, who have ambitious plans for expansion. “I do not plan on stopping at just this location. I plan to open multiple Wayback Burgers across the Houston area,” Vergus stated. Their menu favorites reflect their family-oriented approach, offering something for everyone from classic burgers and fries to garden burgers and chicken tenders.

However, Davis, California will share in the couple’s enjoyment of the burger brand with the Davises’ very first franchised location to open in July 2024 there prior to The Bayou City’s Westheimer Rd. spot.

Houston’s location has an anticipated opening in October/November 2024, which will surely be met with excited patrons. The Davises look forward to introducing Houstonians to the high-quality, fresh-tasting burgers that have become a Wayback Burgers hallmark. “We love that there is something on the Wayback Burger menu that everyone can enjoy,” Vergus said.
