The filing states RAKKAN Ramen would be located at 1321 N. Westgreen Blvd., Ste. 300 in Katy. The space is just over 2,200 square feet and could open sometime in the spring of 2023.

RAKKAN Ramen currently has one location in operation in Houston Heights and two more coming soon—at 12645 Tomball Pkwy., Ste. 500 and at 2550 Citywest Blvd., Ste. 400, both in Houston.

The Katy spot would be the fourth RAKKAN Ramen restaurant for President of Vondry Enterprises, Christopher Lav. RAKKAN Ramen founder Ryohei Ito opened the brand’s first restaurant in Tokyo back in 2011. There are now locations across Japan and in California, Colorado, Georgia, and Illinois.

The menu features ramen dishes with a vegetarian broth flavored with a Dashi Bomb. “Dashi is a traditional Japanese soup stock that is full of Umami, which brings out the best in each ingredient,” stated the RAKKAN Ramen website.

Other menu items include small plates of Edamame and Chicken Buns, which are pillowy and filled with RAKKAN Ramen’s signature Crispy Chicken. You can also order Pork or Vegan Buns, as well as rice bowls such as Spicy Tuna.
