Kolache Shoppe, the iconic Houston bakery known for its delicious Czech-inspired pastries, is set to expand its presence with a brand-new location at 10321 Katy Fwy Suite D. Co-Owners Randy and Lucy Hines, who have been at the helm of the business since 2014, continue to grow their brand thoughtfully, bringing the joys of traditional Texas-Czech pastries to new neighborhoods. After successfully establishing franchise locations in the Heights, Pearland, and Celina, the Hineses are now excited to serve the Memorial and Spring Branch communities.

The new bakery, a collaboration between the Hineses and their Director of Operations, Michael Horne, promises to be a fresh and inviting addition to the redeveloped Benignus Plaza. With a design motif that includes bright blue and white tilework and wood accents, the Memorial Shoppe will focus primarily on to-go service, making it a convenient stop for commuters and locals alike.

Randy Hines, whose family resides near the new location, expressed enthusiasm about the expansion. “Even in the early days at our Richmond location, I recall guests driving from great distances for our authentic kolaches, and Spring Branch was one of those places. People want us out there, and the Inner Beltway is premium real estate that we couldn’t pass up. We look forward to serving patrons who have supported us for years and welcoming their neighbors and friends into the new Shoppe,” Hines said.

In addition to the familiar menu of sweet and savory kolaches, the Memorial Shoppe will offer fresh drip coffee and espresso drinks made with locally roasted Boomtown Coffee beans. The bakery will also continue its tradition of collaborating with local chefs and producers to create unique monthly specials, ensuring that every visit offers something new and exciting.

Michael Horne, who started as a cashier and worked his way up to joint owner, is thrilled to bring the Kolache Shoppe experience to Memorial. With deep roots in Czech culture, Horne has found his passion in service and leadership within the company. “Owning a bakery has its challenges, but I have so much confidence in our brand. I’m excited to forge future success with this new location,” Horne shared.

As Kolache Shoppe prepares to open its doors in Memorial, the Hineses and Horne are eager to bring their time-honored recipes and warm hospitality to a new corner of Houston, ensuring that the love for kolaches continues to grow across the city.

Scheduled to open in January 2025, the 1,400-square-foot space will undergo a complete renovation, featuring a modern kitchen, bakery case, and a full coffee bar.
