Founder Stan Holt opened the first Lupe Tortilla in Addicks in 1983, and the brand now has 15 restaurants across the Houston area and just over a dozen locations in other Texas cities.

According to project filings, construction on one location at just over 10,000 square feet will begin early next year at 20269 Eva St. in Montgomery. Completion is set for late fall of 2023.

A second location at 20061 Northpark Dr. in Houston could be complete by early summer of 2023. The new Lupe Tortilla will be ground-up construction at just over 11,600 square feet.

The menu features items made fresh when ordered and includes beef fajitas, bacon-wrapped shrimp, and hand-rolled tortillas. Other options include Tex-Mex favorites such as tacos, enchiladas, and burritos, plus soups, salads, chicken and ribs, carne asada, nachos, and vegetarian options.

Margaritas are made with freshly-squeezed lime juice, and full bar is available with other cocktails, beer, and sangria. An extensive brunch menu is served on Saturdays and Sundays.
