The new Water Oak Cafe & Bakery will open in a 3,000-square-foot, second generation spot, but it must undergo some renovations before it opens to the public. The new restaurant will include a patio. According to the Water Oak website, the bakery and cafe’s target opening date is spring of 2023.

Owner Dena Baughman first opened Water Oak House in 2015 selling her key lime pie. The menu grew to include dozens of other desserts and quiche. Items are currently available for pickup and delivery as construction on the new storefront gets underway, possibly in February, according to a recent project filing.

The current menu features a variety of cake flavors such as almond, dulce de leche, lemon, red velvet, and others. A number of icing and filling flavors plus toppings are also available. You can grab pies, rum cakes, cookies, and quiche. The new restaurant will serve a breakfast, brunch, and lunch menu, plus beer and wine, according to the company website.
