According to Nigel Belton, Managing Director at German Doner Kebab USA, the Sugar Land branch has been designed and the franchisee is now finalizing contracts. The company is looking to open the new restaurant in mid-August 2022. The business is “Not in the hiring phase as yet,” Belton said. “This will come closer to the opening time.”

GDK has partnered with Dallas based global design consulting firm Harrison, to bring this well loved fast-casual chain state side.

“Harrison has been an integral player in our global transition journey,” Belton recently said. “When guests visit GDK, they’ll immediately recognize that the brand is something different. We’ll maintain our originality through our authentic restaurant design and the delicious food experience we provide. We can’t wait to introduce the ‘Doner Kebab’ to the Sugar Land community.”

According to GDK’s website, their kebabs are made from quality ingredients exclusive to the chain. “The great taste comes from the SECRET SAUCES that set our products apart, from our competitors,” the site says. The fast-casual chain uses lean beef and pure chicken fillets imported directly from Germany to maintain quality and consistency, as well as fresh locally produced vegetables.

While GDK first opened in Berlin, Germany in 1989, they are now based in Glasgow Scotland. The company has a global presence with 100 restaurants across the U.K., Europe, and the Middle East. They are now also growing in the U.S., Canada, Saudi Arabia, and Ireland.
