Co-Owner Terrace Ford announces the launch of Five Seventeen Cigar Bar and Lounge, a promising new establishment in Houston. Located at 22522 TX-249 #530, the venue is a unique combination of high-end cigars, gourmet food, hookah, live entertainment, and a VIP lounge — an amalgamation that Ford believes the area lacks.
Named after one of the investors’ grandchildren’s birthdays, Five Seventeen represents a novel concept that arose from Ford’s passion for cigar smoking, shared by his business partners. “My business partners and I all like to smoke cigars, so that is what inspired us,” says Ford. “There’s nothing like this around the area with both components of the cigar bar and also a lounge.”
After his franchised restaurant venture was halted by the pandemic in 2020, Ford, who also manages a trucking company and has a background in music management, took this opportunity to leverage his business acumen and creative expertise into creating a unique lifestyle venue.
Five Seventeen spans over 3500 square feet, divided into two distinct sections to cater to its diverse offerings. A 1500 square foot area is dedicated exclusively for cigar enthusiasts, while the remaining 2000 square feet house the lounge and entertainment area.
From cigar aficionados to food lovers and music fans, the venue will cater to a wide audience. Guests will enjoy a sumptuous menu crafted by a chef from New Orleans, promising a range of delectable dishes from lamb chops and tacos to wings and steak nights.
In addition to its food and cigar offerings, Five Seventeen’s will feature low-light aesthetics, designed to create a “grown and sexy, relaxed ambiance,” as Ford puts it. This ambiance, combined with live music, DJ sets, karaoke nights, and potential live talk radio recordings, is poised to make the venue a go-to spot for those seeking a sophisticated night out.
With a capacity of approximately 150 people, Five Seventeen is also set to offer a VIP lounge available for rent. Moreover, the venue will provide cigar memberships and offer a wide array of cigars for sale, including a premium selection. Complementing the cigar experience, guests can expect an extensive range of liquor options for the perfect pairing.
While the venue’s website and social media presence are currently in the works, the team is eager to welcome patrons to its soft opening in early October 2023, followed by a grand opening by the end of the month.
