Chad Palmatier and Anthony Sobotik founded Lick Honest Ice Creams in 2011 to offer “honest ice creams” to the savvy palates of Austinites, according to the brand’s website. Both Palmatier and Sobotik grew up in rural communities and enjoyed homemade ice cream.

The planned Houston storefront will be located at 2920 Riverby Rd., Ste. 120 in just over 1,100 square feet, according to a recent project filing. Depending on construction, it could open in mid-fall.

Lick Honest Ice Creams offers a variety of seasonal flavors and Everyday flavors such as Hill Country Honey & Vanilla Bean, Coffee with Cream, and Dark Chocolate, Olive Oil & Sea Salt. The milk and cream used to develop the ice creams are from family-owned dairies in Texas and Wisconsin. All of the sauces, syrups, cookies, cakes and marshmallows are handcrafted at the stores.

The brand’s ice creams are offered by the scoop in a cup or waffle cone. Guests can also enjoy ice cream sandwiches, plus vegan and dairy-free ice creams.

Lick Honest Ice Creams is committed to sustainability and uses cups, spoons, and napkins that are compostable. The brand is also dedicated to supporting the community through fundraising, volunteering, and donating to local non-profit organizations through the brand’s Cones for a Cause campaign.
